Writing

Outside of my UX work, I like to write. I am particularly interested in applying feminist media theory to video games and art

My undergraduate thesis earned me graduation with distinction in Visual and Media Studies, and won two awards:

  • Visual and Media Studies Award for Outstanding Undergraduate Thesis

  • Chester P. Middlesworth Award for excellence in use of primary sources at the Rubenstein Rare Books Library

Birds, Cages, Damsels, and Daughters: Feminist and Anti-Feminist Implications of Elizabeth in Bioshock: Infinite

I wrote this paper for a course called World of Gaming, at Duke University. It uses a feminist lens to analyze the character of Elizabeth in the video game Bioshock: Infinite

Artists, Curators, Maps, and Hearts: An Analysis of Les Visitants, and exhibition curated by Guillermo Kuitca

During my study abroad in Buenos Aires, Argentina, I took a course focused on exhibitions around the city, and for my final project I wrote an analysis of Les Visitants, an exhibition curated by famous Argentine artist Guillermo Kuitca

I wrote this paper for one of my courses on media theory. In it, I attempt to analyze modern social media through the lens of Brazilian poet Oswalde de Andrade’s “Cannibalist Manifesto” (Manifesto Antropofago).
